Hey Guys, and welcome to my first blog post.
It's been a while since i've written a blog, so pardon me if there are a few glitches here and there. Just hang on tight and I’ll ensure it gets smoother. I thought of starting this blog to express what's going on and what I am feeling right now in my life.
I am currently most anxious and excited to see the response i get from you guys to my latest tv appearance, the reality show Sach Ka Saamna on Star Plus.
It’s a format I really believe in and the International version had me GRIPPED like everyone else. I hope we’re able to do as much justice to the show in our Indian avatar. I think what’s most exciting is the suspense and build up to the various revelations of common everyday Indian people.
The thing about it is that this is probably the most relatable show format as the truths revealed are mostly things so many of us go through and just never get down to admitting. So far there’s been mixed opinions on how this emotional roller coaster is poised – some say its public cleansing and others call it washing dirty linen in public. Either ways, I feel it will make great ripples. We'll pick this thought up again soon. In the meantime, keep sending in your comments and feedback. and let me know of ur expectations from the show.

The American Variant "Sach Ka Samna" is no doubt a good plethora to express the truth and accept. But, I personally feel that Americans do not have the traditions as INDIANS do and that the women in INDIA are regarded as DEVI. In addition, the ethics do not allow people of INDIA to STRIP in front of the WORLD. IS THIS JUST FOR THE SAKE OF MONEY...? shit......... The question to one of the old man "Have you had sex with a girl younger than your daughter" which was answered YES should create a TEAR within the family and also should possibly generate a VISUALISATION of the scene that had begone.... Yet another question, to a WOMAN, "Did you think of having sex with other man other than her husband" is rediculous... Understandably, India do not follow the same type of ethical, moral, cultural values as Americans do... Why strip all in front of public or people who loves somebody so much and do not expect such blunders... Please STOP EXHIBITING NUDITY...

I watched Sach Ka Samna with keen interest and was highly impressed by the brilliant performance and style of Rajeev. He was simply splendid and conducted the programme flawlessly. There was not even a single moment of boredom. He proved better than “many others”.
Confession lightens a man and enlightens others if their minds are open. Each interesting person has his own inner secrets , hidden inner truths
Life is based on half-truth. Or we live in lies. Man is afraid of the “mirror” in front of him. It is the courageous and the brave who reveal their concealed truths to the world. Speaking the truth ennobles a person, brings about catharsis in him and washes him. He feels light when he weeps. Goethe says: “Noble are the men who weep. Leave me alone, you who have a dry heart and dry eyes. I curse the happy for whom the unhappy is only a spectacle.”
The critics of sach ka samna should have sympathized with the person occupying the “hot seat” and answering piercing questions. Hypocrisy and falsehood envelop us all. we seek refuge in the fine-sounding words like “Indian culture”, “our ethos” and the “the glorious Indian tradition”. We love the masks we wear. The programme stung hypocrites and liars. Truth bites.
sach ka samna can create a new kind of authentic human relationship . And an authentic life is beautiful, joyous and superior. The veil flutters and falls, you are naked and supreme. Therein lies the charm of life, of existence and of essence. You are facing you. There is no double. You, the many,are one.
the man wearing the mask must have thought:
“I too have lied to my wife, my husband, my father, my mother, my children, my brothers, my sisters, my friend, my employer, my lover, my beloved, my boss, my women, my prostitute. And this person in the “hot seat” voices my secrets. my wickedness, my cleverness, my lies. But I will continue to lie to others and to myself.”
I loved the yoga teacher who shed tears while answering Rajeev's acid questions. At the end he fell prostrate at the feet of his mother and father and brother, and then sank into the lap of his mother like a child. Weeping elevated him. The beauty of fall! A superior man! Where was the ‘anger’ of the man?
I salute all those who participated in sach ka samna and were candid. Apart from all this, I prefer the thief, the smuggler, the con man to the hundreds of thousands of the “Indians” who are a shame for this nation.
If a man answers the questions in loneliness he will be a “new man.” He will pass through agonizing spiritual crises and touch a different life. The path to heaven is through hell. The “hot seat” is a concrete metaphor for the “dark night of the soul.” Let us recall the confession of St Augustine: “O Lord! Give me chastity but not yet.”
I do not mean to say that sach ka samna is a step towards spirituality. What I mean to say is: Let us search for the “thief” in us, the “prostitute” in us, the “devil” in us, the “impotent” in us and then face the word. Answering twenty-one questions is extremely difficult and, even impossible. Let us have the courage to answer our own questions.
sach ka samna has shown us the way to speak the truth. Why ban this programme which has cemented some relationships? Maybe, it has strained some relationships. Whose? Of the “strangers” living together, of the dead souls, of cold bodies and of dishonest persons.
Self-introspection can instil hope and trust and love in all. Persons with a shady past and present can transform their lives into a beautiful future. Let us all sit in the “hot seat”, and analyse and watch ourselves. India and Indians will change. Indian culture will flourish and bloom. Man will metamorphose the chess-board of life.
Imposing a ban on sach ka samna will mean imposing a ban on transparent truth. It will mean imposing a ban on the free human being who wants to shout at the world: “ I am this and this and this.” Why should we gag the person and suffocate him?
The viewer with a very narrow mind is to blame.
