The day that will change the face of reality shows on Indian TV(or so i hope!)

Hi friends,

Finally, its the 15th of July. I've never waited for any release as anxiously as i have been waiting for this day. And i guess it's more out of excitement than anticipation. Excitement because i want to know whether India has matured to speak and listen to the truth...

I have always found, in loads, people who practice something and preach something else(that may include me at times but i am willing to accept it). It is very easy to form your opinion about anyone and live with it. Most of us probably do that. But have we ever peeped inside us and thought that we are all similar to an extent? We all have our own grey areas. The difference may just be in situations or circumstances but none of us have been 'perfect' all the time.
Sadly, forget about confessing these truths in front of others, we do not even admit them to ourselves in our own privacy. In such a scenario, when a few people come out and admit the truth in front of crores of people, they deserve not just appreciation but also a big 'Thank You'. Not for achieving anything but for setting an example, for encouraging many. However, this is completely my point of view. I am not generalisng it. You need not necessarily agree with me.

But i would love to know what each one of you thinks about the subject. Is it courageous to confess your most personal truths in front of the world or is it worthy of ridicule? Are we regressive or progressive in our thoughts and attitude?

Whatever your reaction, please let me know. I am open to all kinds of criticisms(if any), reactions and feedback.

My love and best wishes to all of you. Love and spread love.

  1. is it real? Dont you think it will be really difficult for the contestants to be able to face their families later?

  3. hi rajeev,
my name is rupal and i watched ur show yesterday nite with great interest. i will try to participate in it as i thot it is quite different from other shows. this is the first time iv seen yu as an anchor and i thot u were quite easy going and made contestant quite comfortable whilst u were askin' her questions. ur doing wonderful job and this look suits u more than kahin to hoga. i used to work at miditech (producers of ur first film AAMIR. no iv not met u but im hoping to do so soon. im sure it must be quite difficlut for contestants to reveal dark secrets but lets see how it goes for me.
hoping to meet u soon. regards, rupal

  6. hi rajeev..yes its great that people come in the front of camera and are telling truth but there is also one thing that later it may create some problem in there life too..dont u think???i also use to watch the english version "the moment of truth" and the question askd there are more than what here you are asking..but what i want to say is that later it can create problem also in the relation of the participant with there family or friends..like in the first episode when smita ji got out was the question which can really hurts the feeling of her husband and also they will think bad about her..
but at all the show is good and congrats to you..i really liked your anchoring...hey also one suggestion also call aamna sharif(kashish) in your show..want to see sujal-kashish jodi again..take care..god bless you buddy

  10. HI RAJEEV SIR!!!

IT IS GREAT WATCHING THE SHOW.....

I READ ALL THE EARLIER COMMENTS I WANT TO ADD THAT THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO FACE EITHER PUBLICALLY OR PERSONALLY!!!

THATS WHY PEOPLE AVOID TELLING THE TRUTH TO THEIR LOVED ONES OR FAMILY MEMBERS....AND ARE ALWAYS FACING A KIND OF GUILTY THAT THEY LIED...

AFTER SHOW THERE MIGHT BE SOME PROBLEMS AMONG THE FAMILY...PEOPLE MIGHT THINK THAT ONE IS CHANGED COZ HE/SHE WILL STOP LIVING THE WAY THEY WANT THEM TO BE .....

BUT ACCORDING TO ME THIS IS THE BEST PLATFORM FOR THE WORLD TO COME AND FACE THE TRUTH COZ THERE IS NOTHING EXCEPT THE TRUTH IN THIS WORLD ......

TRUTH CAN GIVE U BETTER LIFE THAN UR FALSE.....

AND U R THE BEST HOST AS U KEEP ON CONSOLING THE ONE WHO IS TRYING TO GO FORWARD WITH THE TRUTH U R ALWAYS A SUPPORT FOR THEM SO ...

    KEEP IT UP GOOD LUCK.....

    NICE GOING....

  11. i have a strong feeling that this show is going to get realy realy controversial very soon..
although its interesting to watch people tell hard truths, why should someone know the personal life of otheres.
why should somebody's personal life be set on screen for the world to look at. what is the stand of privacy.
this looks like over commercialization and an mad attempt to stand the competition of other channels.
look at KBC and look at this. the viewer in the former gets entertainement excitment as well as knowledge and the player money. all ways good and healthy.
i wish to see some more healthy and creative shows with good ethical standards.

  12. Hi Rajeev...
My friend Jia is a very huge fan of yours. We oftenly talk about you and how dare anyone say a wrong word about you in front of her. She is crazy and mad about you and ur show.
Everytime the show telecasts even the repeats and even each and every trailer or ad is telecasted she sits and sees it without blinking her eyes.
She is crazy about you and the show...

    Good work...
Wish u and ur show a very high success and best wishes.

And please suggest some cure for my friends maddness for u...
    Take care...

  15. Hi,
What's the fun in knowing if a person has cheated his wife or not? even if the person admits that on your show, that's not going to influence anyone in the country. The reason is, from viewer's point of view a celebrity is going to be paid for telling truth, but that's not the same with common man, he has to face all the consequences for telling truth and the important thing he's not going to be paid by anyone. So, only very few people may get influenced by your show, may be we can count on fingers. Please don't waste time on extracting useless truths, instead get the truths that are going to stir up the nation.

About Me

My photo
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
I'm Rajiv, an actor from Indian Cinema. I made a beginning with television – which made me better known as Sujal in 'Kahin To Hoga' on Star Plus. I was then involved in various other roles in Time Bomb (an Indian version of the show 24), CID and Left Right Left. I was always a sporty person as a child, so it translated into having more of these action oriented roles. Many of you may know me from last year's film Aamir – my debut, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. I was very happy with the reviews I received, especially from the film fraternity. Being in the limelight has been a rose with its thorns as well. Hence, all the speculation about personal life, the work and more. So I felt it best to put out a more authentic source of information – my blog and microblog – on twitter!
